Nutrient deficiency?

Does anyone know what could be causing this?

Is the runoff water accumulating & sitting in those black outer pots?

No, I actually just put the tiny pots in the outer pots to stabilize them. I was getting tired of knocking them over all the time. Also, those outer pots have about 8 drain holes.

I hope it's just a water issue because that's easier to fix. I just don't know what the plants need (or don't need - lol). Thanks.

Any temp exchanges? Are you letting them dry out between waterings? Did you buy them as cuttings or rooted plants, and how long ago? Sometimes when I buy started plants the lower leaves yellow after shipping or while they are getting acclimated. Have you inspected the roots? Who's on first and do the Broncos have any chance of winning Super Bowl 50?? ;)

Thanks, no temp changes. I bought as a rooted plant from Joni during her $10 sale (I think it was around Thanksgiving). I already lost several leaves from the shipping stress. Maybe I just haven't waited long enough between watering. I haven't fertilized (other than one treatment with BATS) so I thought it might need some food since its having new growth. The roots are small and fragile but healthy. So I'm stumped.

Panthers all the way!! (I'm in NC so of course I'm routing for them - Cam Newton is #1 (literally too) :-))

Have you tried asking Joni? Especially showing her pix?

Good point. I came right to the group (because you're all so smart :-) but I will email Joni. Thanks.

Looks like over-watering..especially if there is no supplemental lighting.Shorter days in winter slows down growth and some hoyas become dormant...the roots don't suck up as much water as compared to the spring summer growing season.Allow more time between waterings until the days become longer in spring.

Thanks Jimmy. I do have them on a heating pad. I guess those leaves will fall off :-(

Be careful with the soil temperature when using a heat pad.I have lost cuttings because the container was right on the pad, which made the soil too hot and rotted the cuttings. Now I have an inch of pebbles or grow stones in my rooting container so they are elevated a bit.I also have timer for the heat pad that is in sync with my led lights..12 hours on 12 hours off. This gives the cuttings a chance to cool off a bit.It mimics night and day changes in temperature like in nature.

Monica, why don't you e-mail me privately through this site. I'd like to offer some suggestions...
