I would get 2 matching accent chairs. And move the mirror it is not reflecting anything interesting.

Your question is complex for several reasons. In deciding what chairs to add, think about how much more seating do you actually need. Think about how the scale of the accent chair (s). You are correct that the existing chair's scale does not work with your beautiful new sectional. And the coffee table/bench is too small.

I am not feeling the traditional look of oak with the modern lines and color of your new sectional. I am suggesting you lose the round oak table (it is not modern enough) and, since the kitchen cabinets are visible from your living room, is there any way you can paint them?

The paint color of your TV console table is beautiful and coordinates well with your new sectional. I would love to see that color on your kitchen cabinets!

Can you paint the closet doors white, paint the floor trim white, and add white trim to your ceiling? These changes would make your room wow.

I'm thinking one large accent chair, perhaps with an ottoman, in a pattern you love with grays and taupes and creams in the fabric would tie everything together well.

Let me know what you think. ;)

Definitely not the solid gray chairs. You may want to bring in a little bit of that accent blue from the other room.

Are you sure about the position of the furnishing in this room currently? Not sure the layout works. Mirror doesn't work on that wall IMO.

@visualizemave- thank you for all the advice! You hit on everything that is on our to-do list. We've only been in the house for a month, things are coming together slowly. Thank you for the kitchen cabinet idea, we have been discussing possible colors as well. We hope to do the flooring and do the baseboards and doors at that time at well. What wall would you put the chair/ottoman on? Where the current one is or the mirror wall?

Hard to tell from pics but is there enough space to float the sofa away from those back windows?

Hi Mallory! I'm glad my comments are helpful to you! Only a month!?!? Well, have fun in your new home!

While there is space in the room on the mirror wall, at the end of the sofa, it seems a chair/ottoman would not work there because of the sofa configuration. The only way to know is for you to move the chair/ottoman around - you will know. ;)
