i saw a dining room on tv with a collection of silver trays displayed on one wall and it was so pretty and shiny! I hit local thrift shops snd got a wall full of silver-plate for around $50...a spring project soon to be complete!

I'm planning to change my powder room walls to a dark blue or cobalt.

Planning now for a complete remodel in 2 years. Can't wait!!!

We are happy to begin repainting the interiors this month. Getting rid of the safe white and using color every room! A long overdue update.

I will be updating my office windows for spring, removing the winter decorations (currently white acorns, snowflakes and various winter items such as little wreaths made of white feathers) and hanging wreaths of colorful, silk flowers in every window. These wreaths will stay in the windows until Autumn and then I'll decorate the windows with straw, twigs and leaves. Note that I have 11 large arched windows, each comprising 3 vertical rectangular windows with a half-circle window across the top of the 3. In total each window is about 6 feet wide by 8 feet tall so they need some decoration and drapes aren't appropriate for an office. Each has a rod, almost like a shower rod, that runs from side to side across the top of the vertical windows. From this rod we can hang decorations. So each window will have 3 wreaths, centered in each of the 3 vertical panes of glass. The wreaths are colorful on both sides so not only passersby but also my staff can enjoy them.

I use wall décor to change with the seasons. For example, in the entryway, we created 3 large "frames". Using 3M hanging hooks, in the Spring I hang watering cans (narrow in width) and fill them with florals. In the fall, wreaths with sunflowers/acorns, etc. For Halloween there might be cute spiders, scarecrows, et al. Thanksgiving, I got carvable pumpkins that are cut in half to lay flat against the wall. This past Christmas, I used shiny silver 1/2 buckets and filled them with whimsical picks/poinsettias/greenery. Right now, I have 2' high X's (red) over O's (white) for Valentine's Day. Easter will bring out the watering cans again, but they'll be filled with little stuffed bunnies and Styrofoam glittered eggs.

I like the sophisticated look of traditionalist art. My two areas of change are our bedroom and the living room. The library is pretty much done; we commissioned a piece that we just love. However, good quality art is expensive so this is an ongoing project; not something that can be done by spring. I like researching and looking as much as having the art hanging on the wall, so I enjoy the entire process.

I plan to add ship lap in my formal dining room to lend a farmhouse feel...

After 24 years with the painting given to us as a wedding present hanging over our fireplace in our cathedral ceiling room, I'm paying for one that should be much better in that spot.

Once the season changes, I'll hang some favorite sun hats on the wall in my bedroom above my bed. It will usher in spring and the colors of the hats complement the colors in that room.

I will also change out the throw on the couch from the heavy weight navy to the lighter weight cream colored one.

We plan to repaint some walls/add a few new pieces of furniture.

I change my mantel continually , My family truly enjoys the added happiness, and I enjoy the creative process.

I will swap out most of our throw pillows, change coffee table toppers, change bedspread + pillows, add container garden elements to our deck.

I'm changing the trim color in the family room, adding pictures in the living room, and adding glass tile on the kitchen accent wall and removing the wall paper and painting the walls in both bathrooms.

Just painted our kitchen white with a purple wall. Added personal floral photos in complementary colors. This carries our color scheme throughout our home's first floor. Each room has either an accent paint of deep blue or purple.

I do not change my wall decor at all. What I do change are my candle rings and some of my flower arrangements for different seasons and holidays throughout the year. I also change the wreaths that are hanging on my front and back doors.

The only time I did not change things around for the season was when I had a dog that had been blinded by a rattle snake. My husband did not trip in the dark for five years.

Yes,... will begin painting living room mural to look seaside... I've waited 18 years to get to the living room & can't wait. I've done everything myself, inside and out for the last 20 years so everything comes "as the spirit (& my 65 yr. old body) moves me". I just want restful, calm surroundings in there. Just have to finish up the bathroom with banding of porcelain pebble tile (from Houzz!) and lay the wide plank driftwood flooring so I can relax in my soaking tub... FINALLY!.. HalleluYah! I also have to consider my 3 cats who are my world, so will add shelves & climbing areas to fit in with decor. You can have animals & still decorate. Dear Lallcorn, do you watch the tv show Fixer Upper, the lady loves shiplap and does such beautiful things with it. Perhaps you should watch a few of her shows and get some of her wonderful ideas. It is a wonderful country look.

To pass the seasons, I use a floating shelf under a large mirror in my dining room for whimsical decor display which I change every month or two

I'm adding a few new canvas art pieces to the dining room. I have them printed up from personal pictures of family members and loved ones. I love to see their joyful smiles in our home.

My daughter wants her bedroom to be pink....of course, she wants every room to be pink! So we're going with a very soft pink which she'll love. I plan on painting most of the house white and have all the ceilings blue. In my bedroom, I plan on putting up some gorgeous (and expensive - Yikes!) wallpaper [will buy from a company that the Houzz interior decorator gave a link to - the picture was a dining room that had wallpaper I really liked - looked over this company and fell in love with a paper and it's coordinating paper. So, we'll see how that goes.] Going to have one living room wall filled with floor to ceiling bookcases so I can finally get my books out on shelves again. Happy days!

I am replacing a 90's floral arrangement on my tall foyer wall with a modern-looking metal wall art piece.

Will have a number of photos framed in black frames and hang them as a rogues gallery.

I change out my wall decor 4 time a year - for every season. I try not to go too "nuts" for Christmas - use mostly "winter-themed" with just a bit of holiday.

I guess the idea of "wall decor" is dystonic for me. I associate it with holiday trim and decor. Or a doctor's office. Staged. Nothing to change out.

Above the worktable in a small study - taking down a string of wire with clips that has displayed favorite museum postcards and art project ideas and replacing with 6 clipboards on which I hang postcards or magazine clippings or patterns for art projects, knitting possibilities, or just things that make me smile.

I always change add decor on my walls and mantle for every holiday and season. Here's my Spring Teal and Yellow mantle.

I add or change decor for every holiday just as my mother did. I put my tree up in October with an autumnal theme, change it to Christmas in December. The week after Christmas I change to all white ornaments and then to Mardi Gras the last week of January. Then I give up the tree for Lent!

I have a huge collection of lambs. In February I add in valentines, March brings shamrocks, April is eggs and bunnies. For flag day I add in patriotic themed items that stay through July. September is Apple month, Halloween for October, Thanksgiving in November and of course Christmas for December. I put my Dickens village up and put the lambs away in October and leave it up through mid February.

Its a a lot of work but I love the change.

I just got a jump start on my spring painting project last week... I was off Houzz. I changed out my big azz red wall to a big azz blue wall. Those who hate accent walls will cringe.

I've been working on snarky cross stiches to hang in my kitchen.

Just did a redo of decor / paint / some flooring and fixtures at my house throughout! I love my entryway guest very small half bath ..... Paint....SW "show stopper red" ceiling too.....and with white pedestal sink / white commode and black funky shaped mirror / black hand towel / black rug and our collage mascot custom painting .... A black / white and red wolf! Fun and unexpected and unique!

My dining room wall need some art or photos. I should take the time to have some travel photos finished on plexiglas. ...

We are in the process of redoing the area around our back entrance stairway (indoors), and I'm in charge of filling the blank spaces. I'm a quilter and love the farm area we live in, so I'm using both those loves. (Plus my dad was a farmer and there is so much of him in the remodeling of this house)

We remodeled the original bathroom in our home years ago, but saved the old door to a cabinet that was in there. We used that door as a base for a quilt I'm making and hanging with a wrought iron rod.

On each side of the window on the stairway wall I got the idea to tie in the half circle window. I found at Hobby lobby, a farm windmill half (I think it's real, but if it's fake, it looks real enough for me) that I'm going to hang on one side with a quilt underneath.

Then on the other side I'm going to use a 24" buzzsaw blade as the frame for a quilt made of the old block called 'buzzsaw.' I talked to my husband and we've come up with a way to hang the thing because it's HEAVY and I think could really do some damage if it falls.

Why a buzzsaw blade? First, it has the 'arch' that I like and it's something his Grandma had, who he was very close to, when she died 35 years ago. She had a farm about 100 miles away, but did not live there - lived up here, and this blade was at the farm that we cleaned when we sold it, after she died. We had to get out whatever we wanted because we were letting the volunteer fire department burn the house down, for practice.

Plus, it's rusty looking and whoever designed the windmill half left some of the rust on it.

Under the wrought iron quilt hanger there's going to be a shelf, supported by some Craftsman looking supports. The house, originally had some Craftsman touches, so this is our way to add a touch of Craftsman to the new addition. It's going to be a shelf just for pics and frames.

When our 3 kids were little, my husbands employer every year, had pretty elaborate family picnics. One time there was a cartoonist there, hired to do drawings for the attendees (free of charge) I had the guy do all 3 of my kids, in profile, in a row, on one piece of paper. I've been waiting 25 years for a place to display it. I also have a silhouette of my husband's Dad when he was about 2-3 that I'm going to put there, dating from the 1930's.

What else? Whatever I can find that fits the 'arts and crafts' theme.

Main hallway - paint ceiling. Former owners have/had a very light "gray" under tone to whitish paint which "matched" grayish fine stripes in the wallpaper. The wallpaper also has melon/peach fine lines/strips running through it. I'm hoping to pull those colors forward & have a softer glow throughout the hallway. Then - hang family photos, art & some of my Qwallings hangings. That's plan...all plans are subject to change. *grin*

I love mixing it up by adding new art!
