Help with window replacement!

I am in the process of having the windows in my 1977 Florida block home, replaced. The old windows which appear to be used replacements are in a terrible state, and really need to be replaced.

I have already signed a contract, but am now wondering if I made a mistake. This contractor came highly recommended by the local BBB. They gave them an A+ rating. They only carry one window brand ViWintech. The windows I ordered are their Shoreline 5100 series. I was quoted a price of $7,500 for five windows ( 4- 36x48 and 1-18x36 plus one 5' slider ) The windows are vinyl low-e argon filled and impact ( required by my county ) We are near the Gulf. A friend recently had windows replaced by another not local company which approached him saying they wanted to use his house as a "showcase". His house has similar standard sized windows. He paid $12,000 for seven windows similar size and one slider. He was first quoted at $17,000 but when he haggled they gave him the lower quote. I don't like to haggle. The windows are called "Dura Shield" supposedly manufactured by Soft-Lite. The company said it was their own factory. They are based in St Pete. The contractor I went with, did not haggle over price, they simply told me the prices for their different windows. Like the other contractor they only carry one brand of windows. The other company was Stanek, and I have not heard anything good about them.

It seems an impossible task to get an honest answer to which windows are best. However around here, you seem to have a choice of vinyl or vinyl! At this point I am simply looking for feedback.
