If you want the backsplash to be the main design statement, painted glass won't do it. Take a door front to the tile shop. Look at laser cut mosaics or pearly finishes. Take an extra floor tile, too.

I would bring a few samples to your home, not visa versa. All tiles are going to look different in your home, your lighting, day and night lighting all make a difference.

Do you have under-counter lighting - that will make a difference, and you want it to blend with your counter top - you need to see tiles with that.

Mind to share what you ended up with? I have similar cabinets as you, except my issue is replacing the counter tops to match my glass greyish/blueish backsplash

Take the cabinet sample (and cesarstone sample as well if you have it) to the tile store and THEN bring tile samples back home to see how it works in your kitchen re: lighting and time of day and whatever else is nearby - i.e. what is the color palate (besides the grey walls in the kitchen) in the nearby living areas? Do you want your backsplash to be neutral so you can change out linens/artwork/upholstery in the kitchen but still have it all work? In that case, I would suggest a glass tile that has both the cashew and darker grey and wall color in it. That would be very contemporary as both GREY and GLASS TILE is very much in vogue right now. Glass tile can be pricey, but if it's what you love, it will be worth the extra $, especially as you have been living without for so long! If you don't wish to paint out the red walls, you can just put white butcher paper on the wall to get an idea of how the tile would work.

I agree with the previous posts to remove the pink right away and it will affect any samples you bring home.

I recently saw a beautiful arabesque tile mixed with antiqued mirrors for a backsplash. I've also used all mirrors...those really are stunning when finished. One of my other all time favorites are to use the same material as your countertop.

If you want contrast then go with a glass or porcelain tile --- Subway tiles also never go out of style and they come in many sizes, finishes and colors as well.
