Wonderful! Those would be great in a boy's room, don't you think?

COOL!

Another idea: download drawings/diagrams from patent applications and use as art.

No maybe about these being great for a girls room. Of course they are. I wish they'd been available when I was a kid.

Thanks for pointing out they are good for girls' rooms too : ) I'm a sciency girl, my bedroom as a teenager was painted dark blue, lots of glow-in-the-dark stars, a poster illustrating the golden ratio in nature..astronomy posters, periodic table poster, books, geometric shaped mobiles made from bamboo skewers (was very proud of my dodecahedron) . I haven't outgrown it either.. I just ordered a set of 12 sky maps off of etsy that I'm excited about framing and hanging

another favorite is my snowflake thermometer

And, as long as I'm chattering, I should point out that I've found lots of free very high resolution downloads from the British museum. You just have to agree not to sell their image and they will send you a very good quality image to use. I found some botanical prints there.

Great ideas! I used old maps of places that have a personal meaning.

So those JPL posters, it says you can print poster-size. Where/how do you do that?

remember the US Information Office in Pueblo Colorado? They had quite a catalog of posters for free.

You can make poster prints at Kinkos :)

Thanks for including the girls, my sad goof for not mentioning them!

I love these, my mother used to work at JPL. Nice memory.

You can print huge engineering prints for about 7.00.

When I was a young girl I wanted to be a scientist. My DM bought me a book about the planetary system and I was hooked. My favorite class through middle school was Science. That eventually took a back burner to English Lit and art.

I love the snowflake poster! Ordering now. :) Perfect for our NH condo, not sure where yet.

Awesome!

Great stuff! It's wonderful that so many sources have made images available for all.

Thanks so much for sharing the link, k1k1_thinking!

k1k1, can u give the info for the botanical prints? i tried to find them but the ones i found were $30 a piece, so any info would be great!!! Thanks!!
