I see that you are getting into dwarfs more. This year I will have about 4 dwarf varieties, one of which is NBD.

On the gold/yellow fruits I have couple of indeterminants.

Hi Sey - I don't care so much for the sweet taste of yellow tomatoes, although I have only tried Mortgage Lifter Bicolor - which was sweet - IMO. This one is supposed to be one of the better tasting yellows resulting from the Dwarf Project. I want to find out. I do have room in the GH for Dwarfs in areas where I wasn't growing much. The fact that we can grow 12-16 oz tomatoes on a dwarf plant is of interest to me! You have been growing them for several years now - I finally got the interest!

Hudson, I grew Dwarf Wherokowhai (from the dwarf project) last year, and I thought it was so good that I will probably grow it again this year and compare it to Sean's Yellow Dwarf. Wherokowhai also has large fruit and is yellow with splashes of pink.

I'll be growing 6 dwarfs again this year, including New Big Dwarf.

Please update your progress on the 6 dwarfs! I really like NBD and I am looking for a yellow dwarf similar to NBD's characteristics that I can plant every year - of course with great taste and large fruit. Maybe Dwarf Golden Gypsy is the one - who knows. Here is an update on Dwarf Golden Gypsy. I am still waiting for a fruit to set - shouldn't be too long now. Quite a few blossoms/buds!

Will do Hudson, and I'm interested to hear what you think of Golden Gypsy taste-wise. It certainly looks very healthy from your photos!

Hudson-- if you do have success with this tomato and the flavor is ok would you mind saving a couple seeds for me. Im gonna start saving more seeds as the price they want nowdays is ridiculous. Shipping cost drains the wallet.

Hi Lar - I would be glad to. Got to tell you though - this will be my first year to save seeds. It sure doesn't look difficult though and I plan to use the fermenting method. I plan to save seeds for most of the tomatoes I grow this year - I agree with you about the cost of the seeds. With Heirlooms it is also a problem of knowing what you get!

It's easy -- and yes the fermenting method is the best. I have to agree with you on getting the correct heirloom seeds. And thanks.

Dwarf Golden Gypsy is doing well. It has grown to about 4' in height and I don't think it is done with vertical growth yet! It appears prolific with lots of blossoms per truss!

Looking good, Hudson. I see a lot of tomatoes and blossoms. That is what counts.

4 ft, high already ? so much for the dwarf. :)

Hey!!! I thought it was only going to get 2/4 feet? I guess because coming from you it will be 5 feet. For me it will be standard height. Nice going and lots of blooms- I'm impressed

Hi Lar (will save seeds for you). Let me know if you want some seeds Sey. I have read that Dwarf Golden Gypsy will grow taller if you let it - that is OK with me. We'll find out in the coming months. I'm impressed with the plant so far though! I like the way Dwarfs grow like a tree - easy to stake.

Looks and sounds great and I love yellow tomatoes---we have grown lemon boy for about 25 years.

Forgot to mention that my wife passed 10 days ago. She is in a better place now and no longer in pain. I'm back in the game now.

Update: I can already recommend this Dwarf Golden Gypsy - even before tasting it - what a nice plant! Very prolific and happy! The two plants are already over 4' in height with no signs of stoping!

Nice pics. It's been a challenge this year--may not have much---weather is not cooperating. I'll keep watching this thread and maybe next year. Also I can't get into it since losing my love--looking but guess in all the wrong places.

Dwarf Golden Gypsy finally has a ripe one! About 135 days from planting the seed. I'm going to let it sit on the counter a couple of days before the taste test. The fruit has a nice shape and color - I think! The plant is still growing in height - it has grown to about 5' in height now.

That is a nice size and color, with the reflection of green color off the leaves.
I am growing couple if varieties with that color and size : But they are not dwarf. One of them is just about to set fruits.

Thanks Sey - I did slice it and I am happy with the taste! I have not eaten that many yellow tomatoes but Dwarf Golden Gypsy does not have the sweet yellow tomato taste - more of a tangy taste - IMO. You are right about the reflection of the green leaves - the tomato is yellow. Here is a photo of the inside of DGG.

Dwarf Golden Gypsy is producing some nice looking fruit - I am still adjusting to the taste of yellows but they sure are attractive! The plant continues to grow in height and continues to set fruit!

Hudson, can you explain how you are supporting those tomatoes?

Hi Nanelle - I just cut a cattle panel the width and height that I want - hang it from horizontal pipe I have mounted in the GH. Then tie the stems of the tomato plant to the cattle panel as it grows vertically. Here are a couple of photos. There are two cattle panels hanging in the photo because one is for the container plants and the other is for the tomato plant at the end of the bed. I used a wood spacer to keep the panels the distance I want them from each other. Let me know if I didn't answer your question.

Sigh...you lost me at green house. Actually, at "cut a cattle panel"!. What I could see reminded me of some panels I used to put together for a cage for my guinea pigs.
