You are on the right track, i think the lamp is too small, but try putting it on top of some beautiful stacked books. This is pic is a bit over done in my opinion, but layering and choosing things you love. Baskets under the table. I don't mind the lampshade, just add more yellow to the table to bring it in.

The lamp should be taller, with a wider base. I love the mirror you found but not sure it goes with the console table. I think a rectangle frame in the same color as table would be great. Here is a picture from Pinterest that shows family photos on wall instead of mirror.

A taller lamp would fill the space better. The mirror is too high - try lowering it and instead of putting the picture frames on the desk do a collage with different frames.

It isn't finished is all. Needs more and I agree a taller lamp or books under the lamp.Perhaps the pictures could go in colored or otherwise interesting frames. Buy old frames of different sorts and paint them all one color. Baskets on shelf below. I like the console and the lamp base is cute!

I agree with Lydia. Lower the mirror and find a taller lamp with a thinner shade. I wouldn't fill it with too many things. If it is an entrance way, maybe a small wooden bowl or something to put keys in. Perhaps a square lined basket or two on the shelf beneath?

I would do a larger (taller) mirror and a taller lamp with chunkier base. Add 2 rectangle baskets on the shelf. If you find baskets with lids, you can store winter gloves, mittens, scarfs (if you live in a cold climate). Then scatter a few framed family photos of different sizes but same color frames.

Like the table and mirror. Lower the mirror a little and find another place in your home for the lamp. Use 2 buffet lamps instead and find something nice to put in the center of the table

On second thought: no pictures because of cluttered look which means the mirror must be lowered as others are mentioning. The baskets on the shelf do not need lids. Just remove the winter stuff in spring and summer. Or use the baskets for mail and magazines, etc. Find something really pretty and rather large with color to put on the right side after you address the scale of the lamp.

yup, lower the mirror, do a basket on the bottom, add some height with a vase to the right and a bigger base to the lamp, wooden bowl for keys mail etc.....no family pics.....this is a working area, lol

I like the table but not with the mirror. The mirror needs to be heavier in feel (rectangular) since the table has weight to it. A bigger longer mirror that you can actually see yourself in at the entrance would be better. A new lamp with a difference shade, not round would be better.
