Did not post earlier since I've only got negatives :-(

My experience with cut stems of tall beardeds was not positive. One weeped badly on the table. To find the right container for the stem with branches required some hunting. And since we always seem to get a heat wave at blooming time they didn't last well. :-(

I believe the "florist" iris is the Dutch iris which is sold as a bulb. It probably has certain attributes that florists have found to be beneficial towards their trade.

Hi guys, thanks for your comments. I knew there had to be a reason why I never see tall beardeds in floral arrangements, but wasn't sure what it might be. And to posierosie - I just placed an order for some dutch iris the other day :-)

I believe the Dutch iris require good drainage so you might want to put some grit under it

I want a combination of irises and daffodils at my wedding this April. Yours are just gorgeous! Are you located in middle Tennessee?
