What is the leafy ground cover, and (variegated?) shrub on the left

    The leafy groundcover is "epimedium", also known as Barrenwort. It is a terrific slow-growing ground cover that can compete well with the roots of trees. There are several varieties in different sizes, all with the lovely heart shaped leaf. There is an insignificant flower in early spring that can be pink, yellow, white. It needs to be planted in masses to look good. Very disease resistant. Expensive, but worth it!

    Thanks for answer the question for us! The tree to the left is a Ulmus × hollandica 'Jacqueline Hillier'. I don't think it is variegated but just has light glimmering off the leaves.
