Midcentury Modern Living Room Help

I love the midcentury modern look and I thought it would be easy to do (silly me). I'm stuck and have no clue how to bring this room out. I need help on a rug, wall art and decor. The curtains are going away soon. It was part of my old stuff. Oh and my walls are BM pewter gray. I'm not happy with the pillows either. Seem rather dull to me. Thanks in advance.

I am loving all of you design choices! I like seeing a traditional rug with modern furnishings. I think it helps create an organic look and helps avoid being too matchy matchy. Here are a few of my suggestions:

I love what you already have. is that floor cement? mcm was normally not about one or 2 colors, so you have white, then it would have brights with it, or you would have taupe and it would have autumn colors with it. it also incorporated a lot of teak wood from the danish modern.

Is your sofa grayish or white?

I'm going for a midcentury modern look in my living rm. The focal point will be the blue velvet sofa. If I have an array of color & design in pillows should I stick with a neutral rug or can I go colorful?

momperr, you can really do anything you want. A neutral is safe but don't be afraid of color. Do you have pictures? Start a new thread.
