Desperately seeking help!!

My brand new bathroom floors are stained!! I may cry. At first I thought it was a leak in the toilet washer, but plumber came and said washer was fine. It's completely dry under the tiles. Then I thought my husband had bad aim and was peeing on them. But, he's since been banned from the bathroom (

Can you get under the floor ( basement?) and see if the sub floor is wet? If you can, clean it again, and turn the water to the toilet off for a week, that way you'll eliminate the toilet as a source of water or stain. Maybe pry up one tile n d get a moisture meter with a probe and see if the subfloor is wet ( or the concrete backer board.

I keep getting cut off! Anyhow I banned by husband from the bathroom, and the stain is spreading! So it can't be pee, or a leaky toilet, so what is it?! It's a mystery. And advice would be greatly appreciated!!!

Vanessa, is there an exhaust fan above the area? I know that mine has dripped water before. I didn't realize it until I was sitting and felt water on my head. Im not sure if that could cause the discoloration but thought I would share that idea.

Any chance that the wax ring could be leaching into the marble? The ring seals tend to be a golden color, hence the color of the stain, perhaps. Just throwing out ideas... Good luck! And please let us know what you discover as I am about to put in a floor similar to yours!

Try mixing baking soda and bleach to a paste and scrub with hard nylon brush

We've cleaned it with a hydrogen peroxide solution and it lifted the stain completely! We were beyond excited, until the stain started to reappear in the same spot little by little over the next 2 weeks. We thought we at least had it contained. Now it's spreading;(

Some marbles have high iron content. Iron rusts. You likely have rust.

Marble can rust within 2 months? Shit. Big regrets with marble floors. Never again.
