The laminate should be similar in color to the flooring, IMO. I saw one called Almond Leather. Look at that.

We are going to install natural hickory cabinets ( from Home Depot ) in our 1237 sq ft lake houses' galley kitchen. ( hubby's choice ) We are also going to lay porcelain wood look tile ( from Home Depot ) in a warm medium color wood tone. ( my choice ) i wonder what color laminate countertops will look best? I really like the idea of solid white ( with a thick squared edge ) Except in reality I do not foresee the white being feasible in the lake house because lots of different family members will be using the house and we all do a lot of cooking .... I am just to concerned it will stain and solid white will show wear and chips easily. I have really been drawn to the 180 X Formica product line. Silver Travertine or some of the bolder designs in a grey tone or cream grante tone design. Any advise? I really like a modern / contemporay or transitional look. I also really admire simple lines. I am not a big fan of hickory cabinets. We will be on a strict budget..... Except I am a real stickler in having as high end look as possible for our lake house. I have not thought about paint color in the kitchen yet..... However have been leaning towards softer tones because the lake house will be small and I do not want too much going on with dark or bright wall color.
