    Just have one.

    Well Being

Beth--love that Wanguafong (did I spell that right)--wild colors! And the very colorful World Peace.

Ann--great photo of WS Shakespeare (2000, I take it?).

Pat--I love Wollerton Old Hall--wish I had room for another Austin. Wild Blue Yonder is a good one also.

Seil--Winter Sunset is nice--I especially like those colors--kind of a blend of gold and apricot would you say?

    Kate

    Lots of beautiful W's everyone!

Dublinbay, I like the way Well Being's buds are deep pink and the rose is golden.

Yes, jasmine--one of the especially attractive features of Well Being. And when the bloom first opens, it still has some traces of the pinkish-red on the edges of the petals. Most attractive then--but equally attractive when it matures into a pure golden yellow globe.

Very nice. Thank you for the additional photos, Kate.

    Winter sunset is gorgeous, Seil!

kate, so happy to see your well being. I have that one on order for this year. Linda at Long Ago recommended it for beauty & fragrance and said, although not immune, it has above average bs resistance. How is it's bs resistance for you? How big does it get?

I agree - Beth and Seil - Winter Sunset is really lovely - wonderful colour!

Interesting to see the difference between Beth and Pat's Wild Blue Yonder! Both beautiful!

@ Seil - could it be that you posted some WATERCOLORS HOME RUN (Carruth 2012) pics under WATERCOLORS (Carruth 2006) on HMF?

These three W's end of my alphabet for 2015.... It has been great being able to share with all of you!!!

    White Symphonie

Pat--I think you will really like Well Being. Mine is about 5 years old and has been quite good on BS resistance--occasional problems, but nothing big or frequent.

Mine isn't very large--maybe 3 or 3.5 ft tall--and about that wide. It is off in a dry corner where it doesn't always get the attention (and water) it deserves, so it might grow taller with regular water and feeding. It often takes me by surprise when it breaks out in blooms--and they are so lovely that I swear I'll not overlook it again, but then I get busy elsewhere in the garden and kinda forget that dry corner. Shame on me!

    : )

Sutekesh, that White Symphonie is lovely--well formed and a bit frilly in the center. I like it!

Beautiful roses everybody! Sharlene that WHITE SYMPHONIE is really beautiful. Yeah it's interesting how different WBY can look different times of the yr. My photo was taken in March, when the temps were cooler and the coloring is darker, more purple. I have later photos where it looks more like Pat's bloom. Like this one, taken in June when we get 90-100 degree temps.

Thanks Kate, Beth - White Symphonie is really a lovely rose and the blooms lasts really well. Would be a great rose for the vase if it wasn't for the scent. I made the mistake of putting a couple in a vase in our entrance and my DH asked what smelt so weird. He thought it smelt like spilt beer - lol! But truly not the nicest perfume!

Beth, not sure which look I prefer on WBJ - they are both gorgeous.

Oops! Thanks for the catch, Sharlene! Now all I have to do is figure out how to move them, lol.

Everybody's pics of William Shakespeare 2000 are beautiful. Mine didn't survive one really brutal winter here. I miss it.

Kate,Thanks so much for the info on Well Being...I'm getting really excited to see how it will do for me.

    Sharlene, Love your Westerland...beautiful!

Beth, Your hot weather Wild Blue Yonder looks like my cool weather Wild Blue Yonder...lol The picture I originally posted was from spring. Once it turns hot here, like so many other "blue" and purples, mine goes magenta on me:

    Ooooh!! That's gorgeous Pat!!!!

I always start to feel a bit sad at this point in the alphabet game... you all in the more southern zones are just going to have to start posting spring bloom pics!

I am bamboozled. Too many beauties here. Reopen tonight to narrow down my pie-in-the-sky choices and lo, there are more beauties posted. Ok. I want.....................WHITE GOLD.

Irisgal - lol! White Gold was a bit of a flyer for me and.................................... I LOVE IT! Not that these are your issues, but it winters very well, hardly blackspots, and the blooms are beautiful! It hasn't been particularly floriferous for me yet, but it's young and own-root so I'm giving it time. The blooms are breathtaking.

Thanks Redwolfdoc. When you say breathtaking I believe it. Please, please take lots of pictures for us and how long it lasts when temps. get to low 80's.
:-) When we get to the 90's I allow my roses to sulk.

PS: where did you find it? TIA

Wild Blue Yonder was one of the first roses I planted, and also one of the first to be shovel-pruned. It just didn't like my zone/garden/care. All the photos on here are reminding me of why I wanted it in the first place though! Lovely shots, Pat and Beth!

Irisgal, actually we regularly get hot humid days in the mid to high 80s (I did the celsius to fahrenheit conversions on google). Cold, long winters punctuated by hot, humid summers - not my favourite climate but hey, it's home! Can't really speak to WG yet though. As I said, it's young still. I will definitely take lots of pics this season, don't you worry! I don't have any really stellar ones from last year, but here a few...

I didn't get the focus quite right, but the buds have a very subtle blush to them:

The yellow tones are brightest just after opening:

The colour fades to white with pale gold in the centre pretty quickly:

And here's a side view of the bloom in the shot I originally posted:

I got it from Rogue Valley as a band in spring of 2014. It gets good height for me but hasn't filled out much as a bush so far. This season will be it's third in my garden.

    :)

ps - I know you're a stickler for true colour in photos... you've given me great camera advice in the past! I did process these shots a bit after the fact - you can see the differences in the foliage - but the flower colour is pretty much spot-on to my eye. Maybe a touch over-saturated yellow in the second shot. :)

Yum. Your description made sense of the different tints (?) I've seen. One never knows if it's a camera problem. Blush stage first then that glorious celestial glowing. I think this is a white I could live with. Thank you.

I love digital cameras but thank heavens for tweaking. Hate to post a warm pink rose as a cool pink when removing a bit of blue makes it spot on. I had this nasty iris that would not photograph as violet-lavender. I kept adding red, omitting some blue, and got it just right. The foliage!! Terrible. You're right. I'm a bugaboo about accuracy. I this forum is the best color on the web.

Whimsey, a miniature. It is only this beautiful pink when it is cool. In our heat it turns orange.

    Very pretty!
