Thanks for the suggestions. We do plan on replacing the windows as they aren't very high quality and we're going to get ones without grills. But that will be next year. Have a whole house to paint and yard to finish.

I do like the idea of the bright color on the ceiling to match the art. Only problem is we don't have any art yet. We were going to do the paint first followed by furniture and art work.

Good thing is paint is cheap if we want to redo it.

Flat for the ceiling. Consider Benjamin Moore's Simply White. I love it. Clean, crisp with a bit of yellow to soften. It is very popular because it does not change in different lighting, something that is usually a problem.

Thanks we definitely have different lighting in the room with the shape of the ceilings. Would it go well with a dark near black color for the walls?

Curious what paint color that is. I'm currently using BM Darryl Carter colors, a deep blue with charcoal grey notes, Simply White next to it is stunning, very luxe. The dark blue is Bayard Blue.

The color is Sherwin Williams Tricorn Black. It is close to black but not all the way there.
