Either add to the artwork on that wall by grouping more smaller framed pieces, or relocate it.
The large blank wall would make a great place to hang two large photos. Could be tranquil snow covered landscapes, close ups of flowers, or abstracts. Soft blurred images can look amazing against deep colored walls and won't overpower your room.

Thank you Jeffrey. Sounds serene. But expensive. I'm trying to do this on the cheap since other, more visible rooms (kitchen) are getting priority right now. Any other "budget" ideas?

A large mirror maybe with a silvered wood frame would benice over the dresser. Would also like to se a beautiful green plant such as a fern on a stand, the current chair replaced wit a chair with a patterned fabric and an area rug to pick up the color. The room is nice but needs some additional colors. you might try this combo--- gray, brown, silver (even some brushed stainless furniture pieces and for a forth color golden brown. This would be in keeping with what you started--but it would take the room to the next level.

I would get another dresser to add to the one you have or a new bigger and longer one and put it on the other wall. I would take the mirror and put it where the dresser currently is. Yes, the picture is too small. What is on the opposite wall?

Tracy; I'm not sure what expensive means to you since it's a relative term. The website "All Posters" and others like it offer all shapes and sizes of prints for $50-$500 and that's including framing. From what I can see in your photo, that's all you need to tie it all together. The small art work over your chest of drawers can remain all by itself if you like. Build up interest and fill the wall by using this trick.
Buy a length of gros grain ribbon about a yard and a half long. Trim the ends by cutting at an angle. Fold the ribbon in half lengthwise so its now 27"-30" long. Attach the ribbon about 18" above the print centered to it. You can use an upholstery tack or simply tie a small bow and hide a tack behing the knot. Now take the two tails and tack them to the top corners of your art. The end result will look like the picture is hanging from the ribbon. In the 17-1900's art was hung this way in Europe because plaster walls would "weep" (become damp) and could ruin paintings. Done with flat ribbon in a dark color it will look contemporary.

Consider an arrangement of framed and matted black and white photos on the large wall. I would also suggest a tall candlestick table lamp on the small chest of drawers to complete the look.

Lighting is the first issue i see....wall sconces would be lovely. Are you looking for another piece of furniture or artwork? A chandelier maybe?

Had no time to read all the before-comments, so sorry if I repeat: I would add a clothes rail in front of the empty wall, where you can display your nicest things :) not the whole length, but next to the rail I would add an upholstered chair. (if there is enough space, can't see that)

I love the patchwork prints. I may try to do something like that. I did move a couple of candle holders from another room on top of the dresser, and it looks a lot better. I wish I could afford one of those huge floor mirrors. I'd replace my little one in a heartbeat. Anyone have one they want to sell me for 50 bucks? :)

Jeff, thanks for the allposters idea. Don't know why I didn't try that before - I just bought stuff for my husband's office last Christmas. I found a 36x24 print of "The Tree of Life" for $9.00! I'll look for a frame at a thrift store and paint it up nice.

Have you tried local resale shops? Church rummage sales sometimes are another good option for inexpensive home accessories.

kklinton, don't know if you are around, but I've been looking for bath mirrors. Found a couple that were actually too big for my suv, so that's not going to work. What size would you recommend? And how do you frame it/where do you have it framed? Love the idea, by the way.
