We had a large ligustrum tree plated 2 years ago and over the past few months we have been fighting a a loosing battle. Our yard company has been treating it regularly for a brown spot fungus, but I'm convinced there is something more going on. We have lost a significant amount of leaves and now have several large bare spots. There is a black soot at the base of the leaves and on the bare branches. We still have a bit of a bowl around the base from when it was planted. Praying we aren't looking at root rot. What can I do? I REALLY don't want to loose this tree! Please help!
