You are correct in getting lamps!! It seems that so many folks are using overhead lighting. It is often harsh and makes everything look terrible!

I hope that kid isn't part of the "loving" room.....:)

Where is the tv going? Perhaps a table lamp there and floor lamp next to sofa?

Love your chairs by the way. Just used those same chairs somewhere on this board as a suggestion!

You could use some better end tables, here are a couple with lamps and will not interfere with furniture placement.

I like the way you've furnished your place! Unless you have outlets in the floor, you need to consider whether cords are going to be a problem with table lamps. Arc lamps could be placed closer to the outlets and still provide light where you need it.

I love your style. I think I'd put a floor lamp to the right of the sofa. I'd start there and then see if you need anything else.

I imagine your sofa pillows just need fluffing but I think bigger inserts would help too (or just stuff a second insert in each pillow). Also, the blue coat hanging on the back of the chair looks nice in the room:) I might add a few bright blue accents. Oh, I'm editing to say I now see blue stools - very nice!

I wouldn't get rid of that adorable side table! You can't put a table lamp there anyway without floor outlets.

I love the side table also.

You could actually tuck the cord under the rug and run it under the chair to the wall. No traffic to step on it or walk on it.
