You can give Raintree Nursery, in Morton, Wa. a try. They have several varieties, plus a whole slew of other plants, berries, etc. I have had great luck with them, and they guarantee everything.

So, you already have them, but KIS Farm in Redmond is a good source for other trees, and of course Raintree. Bellevue Nursery and Wells Medina have trees in that range, as well. For apples, pears, plums, asian pears and sweet cherries, it's worth picking up from Hartman Nursery in Puyallup. You have to make an appointment on any day but Saturday. We went on a week day and he spent about an hour and a half with us, picking out the right trees for our circumstances (NOT what I would have bought) and letting us taste more apples than I can count. He sells 1-3 year old trees and charges $26 for a 3-year-old branched, barefoot tree on any rootstock.

I purchased a Nikita's Gift Fuyu type from Territorial Seed online last spring. Came bare root 2.5'. Long dormancy then grew well.

Our Neighbor has a fuyu type and gave me 80 fruit this last fall. They produce well here!

How long did it take to fruit after you planted the bareroot plant?

I planted a bareroot Saijo 3 years ago; it fruited last year and this (however, I only allowed a few of the fruit to develop).

Our Nikata's gift is not branched yet so at least a 2-3 year wait to flower and start fruiting.

I just purchased a couple of large (1-1.5" caliper, 8 feet tall) trees from a Portland area nursery (one green world). I'm happy to see that they have leafed out nicely despite our below average temperatures and much above average rainfall. The varieties are Saijo and Jiro. As I live in the Seattle area, should I be worried about the Jiro not ripening here?

A possibility is to graft a branch of the early ripening coffee cake persimmon (Nishimura Wase) to the existing tree. Is this a good time to do this? How easy is it to graft persimmon trees? I have grafted Fig, Apple and Pear in the past with decent success but I've heard that persimmons can be tricky.
