thank you! Our island is HUGE because we are a family of seven :) I think it is 9 feet by 3 and 1/2 feet. The reason the sink is there and it is a full sink, is that I made a mini kitchen in that area. if you look to the left of the sink on the island those two drawers are refrigerator drawers- I dont have to move very far to cook dinner!

Lovely kitchen! Working on a similar design - how do you feel about your honed marble island (12 mos later -- staining, etching or still loving it?)

Still love it. Get a little crazy when the late afternoon light comes in and I see it all... But I figure the rings, stains and scratches all run into each other after awhile! Also, will have it resurfaced every 5 years. I have to say that I still am so happy and grateful for my now year and a half old kitchen :)
