Seed Grown UK Style....

Yo, yo my adenium geeks n geekesses the sunshine here in the chilly UK brought me outta my cave for a little bit so thought I would show a few of my seed grown adeniums from mid to late 2015. You will have seen a few before no doubt but they have put a bit of weight on since...although I do still struggle with a little yellow leaf arrgh.... Here goes

Same obesum hybrid as above Dazzling Light sown same time and same batch of seeds but the base on this one is well, erm....check out those hips baby!!

Hi Phil, good to see you surface again! Your plants gave done you proud, well done for growing such good specimens in the short time you have been an Adenium nutter! There are some real beauties in your collection with some great looking bases to them.

My own seed grown obesums and arabicums are still in full leaf, hardly one has dropped again this year, and I'm sure they have slowly been putting on girth over the winter....and a few new leaves here and there. Strangely though the two obesums, (one a hybrid from Ko the other a Dang Siri) both that Brian gave me, have once again dropped every leaf. Look forward to spring arriving but at least these very frosty and crystal clear days are certainly raising the temps in the g/h. Hopefully we may get the chance for another grow out if there is interest, I failed miserably at the last one :( I picked up some of that Chempak, the low nitrogen one that you use, will be interesting to see if my plants do any better this season being fed with it. If all it does is solve the issue of the weird leaves on the Arabicums that will be good.

Oh btw, the Compton C's are looking good;)))

All of my plants have yellow leaves or falling leaves. I just got too many this year, and didn't have the light coverage. Yours look great!!

I swapped my lights over in the tent. My Mars double unit was too strong even at the top of the tent bit since swapping it to the single unit things are better.

Phil, all your trees look so robust, fat and healthy. What amazing Caudex on them. Outstanding specimens.

Welcome back, Phil. You've got some really nice and compact fatties there!

Btw, your arabicum "RCN" looks quite different compared to mine. I have grown at least 100 "RCN" seedlings and they all had more or less the same characteristics (i.e. leaf shape and colour and globular caudex).

Phil so great to have you back with us. The seedings speak for themselves, all doing so well in your care. Your GB's are doing well. Love that fat Dazzling Light, it's a keeper! Looking forward to Spring getting here soon, fingers crossed.

Thanks y'all :-) not on much last couple of months or so, busy with work related courses, just on one this weekend 2 hrs south from me in Staffordshire

I've neglected watering if I am honest although I have also found that since removing my double light unit the temp has dropped a decent amount, about 10 degrees so they take longer to dry out anyway.

Also not fed them anything since I use worm castings but even so they yellowing still happens

Roll on summer when they can get some proper sun outdoors in my mini greenhouse if we get a decent summer here in the UK of course, hope so we are due one :-)
