I'm in a frumpy slump...

I can't focus on what kind of project to go to next. I hope I'll get inspired at the end of this week when I hopefully get to go to the local quilt show here. I'd like to do something different than the usual. I just finished a small simple project (baby quilt) and just before that a quilt with a lot of free-motion quilting. I know some of you also hit a wall occasionally, too. The last time it happened I switched to hooking a rug and then I crocheted a rag rug but I don't feel like doing either of those, either. And please don't suggest cleaning the house. LOL!

Rita, are you going to the show in Brooksville? I was thinking about that one, but I decided to go to Quilt Week in Daytona instead (it's closer). And yes, we do all get into a funk now and then.

Beth, I believe that would be considered an art quilt!

Cleaning the house would be last on my list too.

i usually just look at pictures of quilts and follow this forum until the spark is ignited. Don't rush it.

When I get like that, I like to make a totebag or purse. Usually something that I can finish fairly quickly to get immediate gratification. Good luck with process...

Just going to a quilt show gets my juices flowing again. I get so many ideas. Be sure to take a camera and you'll do fine.

It will hit you like a meteor!!!!!! I'm itchin' to try a fabric/quilted picture...kinda like a collage of different fabrics - maybe it is called a 'small quilt'. A friend in California did one for her guild and sent me the picture. Just looks like so much FUN!

If you're looking for something non-quilty, try locker hooking. I was bitten by that bug a few years ago and made a couple of pot holders. I've been hoarding a box full of my son's t-shirts to make a 2x3 rug.

Well I went to the show yesterday, it was nice, mostly hand-quilted. Many vintage quilts. But I didn't get motivated on a new project, I'll just have to wait for it to strike me. I'm thinking about an applique project, haven't done much of that. As for rugs, I've done many different methods, including locker hooking. Too bad I'm not interested in cleaning the house. LOL! I've made a few bags in the past but either gave them away or haven't used the one I kept. That wreath that was posted with the strips tied on it is nice but I don't know where I'd put it.

Maybe a new table runner?? Easter is coming right up, and then there's always patriotic - Memorial Day and 4th of July will be here before we know it! Or, do you have any graduates?? (I'm trying to motivate myself, too! LOL)
