Is it ok to not have a fireplace in our two story family room. While its a large room (20x18) the only place to put a tv would be above a mantel or to the side of the fireplace, neither options thrills us. We want to be able to see it from the kitchen area and only have one useable wall to put it on. The other large wall looks onto a backyard and we want a nice sized picture window there instead. We will have one in another room of the home on the first floor instead. opinions, anyone?
