I'm building a modern farmhouse on a farm, and the house will have a lot of light. We are leaving the cement floor gray. We will have darkish, weathered wooden beams on the ceilings. I love the look of white walls (SW Shoji White) with greige trim (SW Amazing Gray) around baseboards, windows and French Doors. I am tempted to get crazy and paint the interior (barn) doors a dark gray/black/green (SW Iron Ore). Is that look passé or classic? Too busy? It seems like all the photos I seen with that look are from 2013-2014. I know that the new paint color for 2016 is all white, but that seems a little stark for me. I'm also considering my lifestyle with big farm dogs running in and out of the house. Any guidance would be much appreciated.
