It looks like it is hung way to high above sink vanity. I think you would have been better off with a long mirror that comes almost down to the top of the vanity.

I like the mirror. The light seems a bit large there, but if that is something that you want to keep, it's fine.

Moving the mirror closer to the vanity would also look weird with the round towel rack close by.

I think it looks good, no backsplash needed. As for the height -- as long as you can see into it, it's good to go.

I think if you move both the towel holder and the mirror down it would look really nice and maybe a little rug in front of the sink

Like the look, but I think others have a good point about size/height. Looks like I'd only see my head & maybe a little shoulder when standing @ the sink...?

Love the new vanity, but I think you are right. The mirror just ones not fit somehow. Your idea of a somewhat longer rectangular mirror might work better.

I think I kind of like it. It does look a tad too high, but not sure you can change that and still see yourself effectively.

Oval?

Well the height was the tricky part! I'm 5'4 and my husband is 6'1, so we hung it so both can see. There is a pic with me standing in front of it. The vanity is only 18" wide and it was super hard to find a 20" wide mirror that was high/long enough to make sense there. Maybe I need to get one made. I love the idea of a rounded top, but I haven't seen many of those around. Thanks for your comments!

As long as your vanity is wider than 26" , either mirror should work. Please let me know if you have other questions i.e. materials etc.

I like it. It plays off the sink nicely. The other decor that has circles reinforces the mirror and gives the space a whimsical feel that you lose when you go with traditional.

I agree with puremichigan - this one is pretty nice in your bathroom.

The mirror is nice. The vanity is modern, you need a modern mirror with it. Don't change it. It may feel off to you due to emptiness. How about installing a towel holding shelf above the toilet? The ones hotels use to hold a couple of folded towels?

Oval might work better for both you and your spouse. I agree that it is too high compared to the vanity. Rectangular or oval may bridge the gap.

An oval would be better. And a new light fixture, though I know you said you didn't want to replace it, but it isn't very attractive. Light fixtures can be inexpensive, look around.

@Bere - I don't think so, it was only 4 screws. My contractor did it, and the only thing he said was that you need to ensure you screw it into studs if it's heavy. This vanity is very small, so it wasn't an issue. I guess the big ones can get heavy. The other consideration is where your plumbing currently is. We had a pedestal sink before, so the pipes had to be moved to come from the wall instead of the floor, which required the plumber to cut a hole into the wall behind the vanity.

I'd move the towel ring way down, or preferably to the wall on the left. The round mirror would look better if it were 18". Consider getting estimates from a glass company for a beveled edge rectangular one from fixture to sink. It shouldn't be too much $.

I think the towel rack is in the wrong space, which makes the entire ensemble look weird. I would place the towel rack lower and a little away from the sink.

Mirror and vanity don't work well together. Scale is off. Shape is off. Both lovely but not together. There are some great oblong and square mirrors with a tilt feature which may work well for you. I put one in our home in Virginia. I am 5'6 and my husband is 6'8" so I understand your dilemma. Because if the shape of the vanity I would look for a square. Good luck.

Your instinct for a circle was right. I think a larger one with the towel bar lower and or moved to the side would be better. If both you and tall hubby can see in the mirror it is probably ok.

@printesa: thanks for those images..makes me feel a bit more justified in my thinking. I like that string idea, but not with the light (which I agree is ugly, my husband bought it before we re-did the bathroom). I'm thinking of going with oval or a long skinny rectangle now.

Not odd but I could see myself freeking myself out seeing my reflection and not expecting it. Lol lol

We had a similar dilemma in a guest bath. I added a shelf underneath the mirror to take up more space visually, plus it holds a beautiful orchid.

Your mirror looks fine. I would only add a glass shelf below it.

Sandi, so sorry I just saw that you asked for a pic. Was going through my old posts and just happened to look and see if you ever found a mirror. This is probably to late but here is a pic. We have a tight space right against wall and a small vanity in this bathroom. This mirror worked perfectly.

Personally I just love it. It looks amazing has character. You only need a nice plant or make that wall glossy red for a bigger change.
