White dated tile meets Vinyl planks? Please help.

My husband and I are in the process of purchasing a home. My plans are to remove the carpeting and add a floating LVT (luxury vinyl tile) to the main living area, all bathrooms and bedrooms. Allura Traffic Master which is interlocking LVT, which is very very durable per reviews. We have 2 dogs and a cat. I originally didn't want to do the kitchen. The image is very similar to what the kitchen is tiled with. My husband says is horribly ugly. The kitchen and main living space are one huge deep area. I planned on having a transition T strip from the Ceramic to LVT. I'm now considering doing the kitchen in LVT. Any thoughts? We are doing the LVT DIY.

Your legs and back will thank you if you ditch the ceramic. It's murder to spend any time working on it. And since your space flows together, having all one flooring will look much nicer.

If you can handle the tear out of the tiles, then go for it. If you leave the tile, and then change your mind in 1-2 years, you will find that you can't find the same colour. Then you will be stuck putting in "something else" and the hunt starts again....and all the design headaches that go with it.

The choice is yours. If you feel you can tackle the removal of the tiles, then another 200sf of purchased/installed vinyl flooring won't matter much. It will add another day onto your renovation...And then the tiles are gone and there will be no more moaning and groaning about how "ugly they are" or how much the hubby "wished I had just done it all at once."

BTW: the rental I'm in has that EXACT floor...ORANGE is the one word I would use to describe that floor. Orange with a hint of PUMPKIN. Tough floor though. Very tough.
