I've always enjoyed her blog. Another renovation that will be fun to follow -

The way she described the beach house made it sound like they had owned it for a long time ... the zillow link showed they had bought it less than 3-1/2 years ago! I guess saying "we're ready to flip this one and move on to the next flip" isn't as romantic! ;-)

I know the area well. Used to have a boat when we lived in the Boston area and spent lots of time at Wingaersheek beach, right across from where this house is located.

I agree chispa. I had trouble figuring out whether the photos posted were of her current house or the one they just bought, or both (?). Then I had the same conclusion as you when I saw the purchase date.

I just read through the blog briefly. Prior to owning that (for sale) house, they lived a few doors down.... so they have lived in that area for a long time.

I read that too, which confirmed that she is a serial flipper/remodeler ... she just needs to own who she is! ;-)

That's not very many photos (in the real estate listing) for a 2 million dollar house. Of course, the house itself is amazing.

@chispa, it is true I really love remodeling, but not a serial flipper. @lolauren is correct, owned another home there for almost 10 years two doors down - this will be our 15 summer. Because you know the area so well, I'm sure you are aware that the 20 or so ocean front homes rarely change owners and stay in families from generation to generation. We were so fortunate for the opportunity to buy the new one, never dreaming that would ever happen or it would fit all our criteria. That being said, after I put so much hard work and love into the other one it was a very difficult decision to start again on another project. The new project is going to be designed for our empty nester life, with thoughtful planning for spaces for adult families and grandchildren to visit. My husbands dream of a family retreat; and we have decided to live there year round. It is unfortunate that did not come across in my blog post. I found many of the comments hurtful, I hope that is not the way they were intended. It's why I stopped blogging, I am a creative, artistic person and I guess I do not have a thick enough skin.

    Nice going, people. SMH!

Willow Decor, your home and the setting are absolutely gorgeous.

Willow Decor, creativity doesn't preclude developing a thick skin. And if you're engaging on Houzz with Pro status, posting updates even on a dated blog that markets your for-sale home, and using social media in any way, you cannot expect only positive comments. You can't put yourself out there and control the feedback.

So you got a few flippant and negative comments here in this forum. Who cares? Your decor style appeals to some, so don't hide behind a private Instagram account and the sensitive creativity excuse. You're floundering in a gray area here... either remove yourself from the grid altogether, or make your work accessible.

I, for one, would enjoy following your upcoming remodel, either on your blog or on a non-private Instagram page. (I'm not inclined to subscribe to anything on Instagram--there's a reason it's a "social" media platform.)

Regardless, best wishes with your move and remodel.

Willow - I would also enjoy following your upcoming remodel, especially since I'll soon be remodeling our retirement home and hope to create spaces for adult families and grandchildren to visit. It would be great to find some ideas and inspiration. I'll check in on your blog once in awhile to look for new posts.

Willow, another who would enjoy following your remodel. I truly was just confused by the photos, not by the fact you were into 'flipping'. Who cares?

I agree with Lisa, your style might not appeal to all, but everyone could use a little new taste of creativity around here now and then. Your sources, deals, the way you put together a room, all might strike a note & be helpful to someone here. A person's circumstances can change, and we sometimes forget that. Good luck to you & your family as you move into that gorgeous property.

Just to be clear, I posted Willow Decor's blog because I have followed her and thought others might be interested. I had not seen a blog update in a long time and was happy to see a new project starting. I'm sorry for anything hurtful that came from doing this.
