This is my first year grafting away. I've done a ton of different grafts on Apple pear and plums.

Now it seems that almost all my Apple buds on the grafts are starting to elongate and lighten in color/swell. It's exciting but wondering if it's simply the scions using the stored energy with in their own wood or if the grafts are starting to take/connect.

What have been your experiences?

The mid season Apple scions are moving faster than the late season ones. I've cleft, bark, whip, veneer and bug grafted. Thoughts I try a bunch of types to see what works best for me. It's rather addictive!

I suppose If the scions leaf out completed its a great indicator, just wondering at this point about the progress thus far
