There are a lot of great groundcovers you can use such as blue chalksticks, and a Tuscan blue Rosemary that will help with slope stabilization. The designer did a nice job with the natural look of the hillside with boulders and various ornamental grasses.

Hi, not sure what blue chalksticks are, but in this application, the boulders were in place and we renovated 80-90% of the plant material. We did it manually on this job, but soil can be blown in on a slope that is hard to access. Plant material choices are largely determined based on exposure, climate and location. Generally, conifers are the best for slope stabilization as opposed to ground covers, but a combination works well for aesthetic purposes.

nice color--I wish we could grow that here. there are some blue sedums that make nice ground cover, but don't do much for soil stabilization. Blue oat or fescue grasses work a bit better.

I like the blue oat, I often use that. Keep up the good work!

Hello--my suggestion would be to seek out, interview and hire a professional-or team of professionals-to help assess the site, determine the capacity of the site for new construction, and then work to develop your ideas and visions for a renovation or new house. Steep slope sites have many inherent issues that are important to research, to determine the feasibilty of your ideas. Hopefully there are professional designers and engineers where you are to help with that research. Good Luck!
