They are perfect, you made the right choice. My husband makes comments like that too sometimes. I figure he just doesn't get it and move on.

I am a drapery professional and from the way you described them, I expected disaster. These are not! I think the fabric coordinates well with the other fabrics in the room and you chose well. What I especially like is that the drapes are mounted at nice height above your window to exemplify the stature. I might have made a few subtle changes to make it look more updated...but the most important thing is that you are happy with it. By the way, I've done drapes for many celebs including Madonna.

Thanks everyone! Makes me feel better! Thinking to add another side table on the right side of the loveseat. Might also try to move the furniture around and see how things look now that there's a rug and draperies in the room.

I would add silver floor lamps by the wing chairs by the fireplace for some sparkle in the room. I just have ahang up about lighting at each seating spot. my bad but gorgeous room.

I would have chosen a different rod..kind of like the Robert Allen Rods I used for this client in the photo...I might have chosen a brighter color for the drapes or a silk taffeta or velvet to dress and accent your furniture as well. Notice in the photo how I put faux roman shades to cover the wall space between the rod and the top of the window. I wanted the center window to stand out more because of the A-framed cathedral ceiling, so I made the rod higher. There was too much wall space so I put a faux roman there and matched it on the other 2.

I love them and they look upscale to me. Forgive the hubby.

Thanks! I was looking at some of the dark rods but ended up choosing nickel finish to go with the nickel on all the furniture and the nickel and chrome in the kitchen which is open to this room.

IMHO the rods are fine as they are.

Really, valid opinions however .... if you and hubby like them, then it's time to move on to the next challenge.

Nothing wrong with the nickel. But perhaps the contrast will add a nice touch and your hubby won't think it looks like a shower curtain (which it doesn't by the way)!

Thanks for your input! I'll consider it in the future but I won't mess with these because they were expensive and I don't want to screw up lol
