Help with exterior trim on brick house!!

Ok so we are about to give our house a little facelift but I need help!! :) It is a brick house so there's not a whole lot we can really do. We are trying to decide on the trim color (and doors, etc) and it is driving me crazy. :) We live on the lake and around alot of trees, we are thinking if we went with a darker trim color that it would stay cleaner bc the white looks really bad right now. We are also adding shutters and some trim in the gable. The house also has alot of porches/decks so we need to keep that in mind when choosing a trim color. The back of the house is also half hardi-plank so it would need to be painted as well. Oh and the windows are white vinyl so if I did change the trim color to dark would that look bad with white windows?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

Try this trio of colors from Benjamin Moore, Bayard Blue is a deep blue/charcoal for shutters, Pinecrest Gray for trim

Dalton Blue (on the left) for accents. Good for organic, nature themed without being cliche.

I was going to say the exact same thing as Sativa Jaeger Designs. Navy is such a beautiful color as trim on brick houses and it will go nicely with the lake atmosphere!

I never wouldn't thought navy! What about grey as there seems to be some grey in the brick. Also do I paint everything that is white all one color? What about doors, shutters & garage? Thank you!!

I would do Doors, Shutters and Garage Door SW6244

but if you like gray than consider SW7018

Be sure to check if there is an HOA. You may be required to have a neutral color. A dark gray or dark taupe would be nice with the brick. I really dislike the navy. (Sorry.) You could leave the porch rails and posts white.

Maybe BM Revere Pewter for the trim and BM Hale Navy for shutters and door. Sorry, but I hate to think of all your railing being navy. That is just too nautical for me.

Your house is lovely! I'm not sure shutters are a good idea. The only windows that I can see where you have room for appropriately sized shutters is on the two front windows on the right. The keystones and brick accents are so pretty that I don't think shutters would add anything. I love your white trim as well-it's classic. If this were my home, I would spend money having a landscape designer come out to draw up a plan to improve your curb appeal with landscaping. Right now your shrubs don't do anything to highlight the beautiful features of your house. Good luck with your project!

Did you finish your home ? I am building a brick home now (in design) and would LOVE to see what you did. I am considering Navy/Grey family too. Love it!
