What is the material surrounding the ovens? It is a beautiful contrast

    Thank you for the compliment! The wall material around the ovens is a leather tile made by Blackstock leather. They are out of Canada and great to work with. If you look at some of the other photos of the living/dining space, you will see that the tiles wrap the whole 2 story volume and add a nice tactile warmth to the space. Good luck!

    Hello Quezada Architecture, 4 years later, and I am still drawn to this home and the leather tiles. I am curious how they have held up over time and being next to wall ovens. I am thinking of putting them next to a woodburning fireplace (above the mantle and lower half which will be granite). I appreciate any thoughts. Thank you

    Hi there! The leather tiles have held up well around the ovens but they do not hold up to the heat of gas fireplaces... not sure about wood burning but would take the same precautions. You will need to add a lintel above the fireplace such as a stone (granite in your case) to take the heat before you transition to the leather. Hope that helps!
