Dark wall are a bit interesting they actually recede in your mind and add real drama to a space especially one where you spend so little time but both your inspiration pics are also nice

I would paint all the walls. A tiny room gives you the chance to be dramatic. As Patricia said, dark walls actually make it harder to see where the room "ends" so it seems more...limitless, I guess you could say. I would probably change the mirror though, if the walls are very dark, to something with more contrast. You could even do the ceiling.

If dark doesn't appeal, how about the yellow/gold in your towels? You could do a yellow chinoiserie wallpaper on all the walls or just tile the wall behind the sink in that color.

I agree with a jazzy wallpaper! I papered ours with Cole and Son flamingos in pink and grey. It's a small room, so a more expensive paper is a possibility, I just see it as buying a large piece of art. How about a palm print, they are very on trend at the moment.

Update the mirror and find some shelving options. Also agree with the great suggestions for a jazzy wallpaper.
