Leaf edges are doing poorly

Hello,

My girlfriend gave me an African violet recently. Shortly after coming home with me it has begun developing problems. The edges of the leaves are becoming discoloured. It started off with just one leaf but has since spread to other leaves.

My girlfriend said I likely over watered it. I've only watered it once, giving it two ounces of room temperature water that I allowed to sit for a day to remove the chlorine. I watered from the top, careful not to get any water on the leaves. I've not watered it since and the soil is just now becoming dry on the top.

At first, I suspect that it was getting too much light, as I had it in the windowsill of a south-facing window. I've experimented with different positions for it and settled on a spot on my bookshelf about a meter back from the window (I moved it for the photo).

The humidity in my bedroom is around 60% and the temperature fluctuates between around 20-25 degrees Celsius.

What do you folks think is wrong with my plant? What can I try, to heal it?

Thank you so much for your help!
