West Elm Emmerson Reclaimed Wood Table

I'm wondering if anyone has this table and would be willing to share their opinion of it? I am worried about splinters which I've heard can be an issue? Also, does anyone have the Chestnut colored table? Most of the photos online are of the pine one. Thank you!
