SummerAccent Patio Umbrella

Has anyone heard of the particular brand of Patio Umbrellas - Summer Accent?

Saw it in the local Home-Show and was really impressed. Not sure if it's worth the price.

http://summeraccents.com/

I think they only sell at tradeshows. Could not find any reviews anywhere.

Thought will ask here if anyone has heard of it.

Appreciate any input.

Thank you!

I would just look for umbrellas on- line they don’t look like anything special to me.

Never heard of them but the prices seem comparable if you like them.

was just at the home and garden show in Ottawa. Had a long convo with the owner of Summer Accents, Rod. Thats all he does, specializes in umberellas. Was very impressed with the construction, materials, features, built in (warm, not LED) lighting and how they stand behind their products. Will be buying one later today (taking advantage of the show special).

Because patio umbellas get so much wear and tear, I strongly suggest going with a well known brand that offers replacement parts and canopies so you can get the most life out of your umbrella. Our customers come back to us after several years using their Treasure Garden umbrellas to replace poles, frames and update their space with new Sunbrella fabric canopies and a re always happy that they don't have to go through the expense of buying a whole new umbrella when an inexpensive part will do the trick. They also carry those lighted styles that Summer Accents had on their website.

These are excellent and worth the money. We had one for 11 years until we moved and the new home owners still have it. We are looking for one for the home we moved to. They are fairly large and had we known our new yard was big enough, we would have taken it us. They are a better shape for real sun shade than the round ones.

did you end up buying one? We just saw them at a show today and the quality seems wonderfull...BUT, no google reviews, very few comments online, and although they have some great customer testimonials on their website, I found a few comments of poor customer service.

i would be interested in what else you found out

note: the sales rep at our show is local! Does anyone have any info whether they hire full time local reps?

I really like our Umbrella, but didn’t realize it was manufactured in China. I assumed North Carolina. Surpris e, if that matters to you

The product does not hold up. The parts suffer from metal fatigue and break in a mild gust.

We bought ours at a home show in Grand Rapids, MI. It arrived damaged and it took 3 attempts to get parts that were not broken. It was used from June-September and then stored for the winter. We just opened it and the cap has cracked/broken off. Company states it was due to high winds(Hmmmm....hasn't been used for 7 months). Customer service is horrible and Product is made very cheap compared to our treasure garden umbrella that lasted for 10 years. Don't waste your time or money.

We bought an in-ground base from them, mounted it in cement and love it.

it is a two part telescoping tube so that we can easily remove the umbrella for the winter by pulling it up and don’t need to fuss with bolts.

Hamilton ON. We just received and assembled this. Everything was there and mostly in good condition.

*The umbrella was ordered 8x8, shipped 10x10. This barely fits on our little deck, but we're making it work.

*The storage cover was packed under the metal parts, and should have been separate; the plastic toggle on the tie-rope was crushed. We'll have to come up with something to replace it.

*The printed instructions are absolutely useless, with inadequate diagrams and mistakes. And the mfr name is nowhere on those instructions! Instructions are mainly diagrams. The printed parts are in English-only. They tell a fraction of the story; YouTube was our only friend.

We're using the deck-mount base plate. Although the base is level, the main pole is not plumb, so we'll have to shim the base on one side.

*The extended pole base was not offered to us at the trade show. The umbrella sits low and we have to duck under the edges.

These are all minor points, but if you order this and are not handy, be sure to hire someone that can solve problems. All in all, we like it and we think it will work out OK.

*we hope the vendor considers *these* comments!
