Iris, it sounds amazing! I have been tramping all over my yard probably causing all types of compaction, but I just love digging and planting. :)

***sigh*** still in the snow, but we are getting a few puddles.

We've had some warm days and the snow is melting. I'm trying not to walk on flowerbeds, but I'm not as gentle with the lawn. I enlarged this bed and the mirror image bed on the other side of the walkway.

These lights were on the lawn, and I think I have to keep fixing them because they get hit with the weed whacker. I'm hoping inside the flower beds, they'll be safer.

I put down newspapers and bagged compost over the top. I hope that's enough to kill the grass underneath and let me plant in them soon.

Pics like this remind me that I really need to do a better fall cleanup. It would make things so much easier come spring.

Sandy, that is quite the endeavor and looks great. My greatest energy for gardening is in the Spring. Seems for you, too!

Yes, spring is the best time to get things done before it gets too hot. Although, the big plans I make during winter are sometimes more than I can ever really accomplish. But as long as I make steady progress I'm happy.

I adore curved walkways, but when I bought this house the one already here is just a straight shot up the hill, so I think I compensate by making curvy beds in most places.
