Only one on my "must have" list. Last summer, I got several cuttings from Carol, one of which was glabra IML 1552, a large leaved beauty. For some reason, it just collapsed over the winter (after doing outstanding in the summer!) I was heartbroken... I still have the pot of roots in hopes it will come back, but that doesn't happen often.

But at the moment, I have NO room for much else. So I'll probably just do some trading this year, as I clear out some of last years extras and make room for them. Yesterday I was naughty - went to our local Orchid show and bought a pitcher plant and a small orchid (where will I put them??) Then went to our cactus club meeting and won a couple raffle plants, but I was smart and picked two teeny-tiny Pelergoniums that can be wedged between two plants. It gets tricky when you have a lot of plants! LOL!

Like Denise, I am also running out of room. But, I have a few wants. I also could use some more potting soil and a watering can with a sprinkler for my house plants (the one I have been using doesn't have one and the soil seems to wear down rapidly).

I'm sorry about your glabra, Denise. I hope it'll come back. Like you said before, Hoyas are tough! It's so hard not to be naughty when you go to a plant show :) I want to find a local succulent or tropical plant club to join. It would be nice to meet people who love plants too. And I need a social life!

Brad, I just ordered a variegated C. woodii. Once it grows some, I'd be happy to send you a start. Ditto carnoda "da Bomb".

Where did you order your woodii from, turtlebutt, if you don't mind me asking? I saw one yesterday at a nursery but it was a sad sack, so I passed.

Tawny, thank you for the reminder! I have to check with someone else about cuttings, too. Hoping for some continuing warmer weather like today! Especially on my birthday. Which, oddly enough, is the same day as Easter this year. That only has happened once before that I can remember.

Tawny, I ordered from the Home Depot, of all places. They have this three succulents each in 9cm hanging basket for $18 free shipping if you spend $45. I was going to order from more of a specialty store but with shipping it would come out to be the same price or more. This way, I get a couple of extra plants to experiment on, and get three little hanging baskets I can use for something else (Hoya babies). I needed a big pot and other some little things, so to make it >$45 was easy. A caveat is you don't know what kind of succulent you get, but there aren't that many common hanging type succulents at HD, so I think I'll get C. woodii and the string and/or tail of something something. I'll send you a pic once I get them.

Jimmy, I googled E. grandis. That is one wild looking plant! Do you happen to know where I can find variegated Dischidia nummularia? I know EA sells them, but I don't think I'll be lucky enough to find them in a store.

Ayone grown the variegated C.woodii before? I've grown the regular green for yrs., but have found the varigated one much trickier & fussier. Sadly, I've lost it several times. Here's hoping you have better results than I did. Just a heads up for first timers to it.

Thanks, lmontestella. I also heard that variegated C. woodii is very tricky. So is the variegated Dischidia nummularia. I'm going to just see what happens. It seems like the more I fuss over a plant, the less happy it looks. Maybe I'll get lucky. I also want a variegated Senecio rowleyanus. That one's probably tricky too. I have a thing for vines with tiny round plump leaves...

You're lucky, GG. I, too, have tried growing the variegated C. woodii with no success. It's truly adorable and I wish I could grow it!

themockturtle- one good thing about HD and Lowes is they warranty their plants for a year. Just hang on to the receipt and original pot.

Ive returned Hoyas to Lowes for a full refund (no questions asked)

Monica, I don't know... I usually change the soil as soon as I get them. If I saw that the roots are rotted, I would return or exchange right away, but other than that, if a plant dies, I feel that it's my fault. I guess I've been lucky with BBS plants.
