Our new powder room floor

We are considering changing the flor tiles in our powder room from Carrera marble to a lower maintenance porcelain tile in a herringbone pattern. Does anyone have any advice on the color or size of the tiles? We are leaning towards either a slate color that contrasts with the wall paper or beige with gray undertones that matches the wall paper. Size would be 3x6 or 4x11. Thanks!!

I keep going back and forth between your options --I can see why this is your dilemma ;)

I normally would say to stay lighter since it's a smaller space, but I am really leaning more towards the darker tile. I think it would really make that amazing wallpaper pop!

Also, I LOVE the herringbone pattern and think it will look amazing in this statement bathroom. I don't know the standard sizes for tiles, but I'd make sure the tiles are thinner and long to really pull off the herringbone pattern well. I view the size of the tile in proportion to the bathroom size as the most important question/dilemma here. For the length vs. height of the tile I'd stick to a 1:3 ratio (i.e. 2"x6", 3"x9", etc.) or something close to it. Again, I don't know industry standard for tile sizes but something that is thinner and long. I would also keep the grout dark with the dark tile to keep the floor as less of a distraction.

Can a smaller space be complimented with herringbone in any size? If the blue walls stay, would you consider a more basic floor or simple floor? Herringbone becomes a focus so walls, sink, etc could be less dramatic.

Lovely bathroom and quite lovely tile samples, too! Is the blue in the wallpaper fish? I can't tell on my iPhone.
If it were my choice, I would choose either the beige or slate 4 x 11 tiles. (The larger the tile, the less grout to deal!)
I would choose grout the same color as the tile, and if I chose the beige tile with beige grout, I would have the grout sealed!
If I chose the beige tile, I would choose blue accessories, and probably towels, too. If I chose the slate tile, I would choose beigey towels and both blue and beige accessories. Good luck to you; it will be beautiful!

Thank you all for the feedback. I think we are locked in on the herringbone pattern, but will plan to match the grout color to the tile so that the floor pattern doesn't overwhelm the other elements of the room. We are leaning towards the light beige in 3x9 or 4x12 if we can get one of those sizes. The dark slate could be great, but slightly more risky and we don't want to darken the room too much. Agree with less grout=less maintenance also. All great advice...thanks again.

Wall paper is staying and is a blue Koi fish pattern...think it comes in a few different colors.

May I ask, was the tile that was replaced existing tile? I noticed the sink was new, so did you install the sink, then decide to change the old flooring? I personally love the original, but understand the maintenance issue. I have it in my master bathroom.
The small picture above the toilet is not doing much IMHO..

May I ask want the issue was with the floor you removed? I,love it and have something very similar on my list for flooring for our master bath. Just curious as to the problems you were having
