Most of the Thai photo's of trees are Arabicums or Thai Soco's.

There is also the A. obesum (most popular for blooms).

The interesting roots that you see are from raising the plant when repotting it. They are lifted up slightly exposing the caudex (trunk or girth of base).

Adenium seeds do not come true to parents (pod/pollin parent). One can only hope for similarities.

The grafting is relatively easy. With your experience with grafting already, will make in easier. There are differences in that the humidity is important and some other practices. Some very good post within the Adenium forum on this subject which will help. Just search when in the Adenium forum at top and it will show your queasy with "Adeniums" after it.

I have done grafting on seedling stock, but best to be atleast 4-6 months of age. Flat grafting, Cleft grafting are the most common. Some do Air layering and Bud grafting.

Generally most of the grafting I do is the Flat graft. I like the finished appearance much better.

As to what stock to experiment with. It will depend on whether you are starting your own seed or purchasing trees already started.

No, it can be done with both Arabicums and Obesum. Obesum will never get the width in caudex as the Arabicums. Obesum of coarse as with any tree will build girth in stem/trunk with age.
