Preservation Quote

I know feedback on the Preservation 9000 series with energymax 10 has been mostly ok for performance characteristics, but there are clearly question / reservations regarding pricing. I think I now fall into that camp unless someone enlightens me otherwise. I got a quote for 18+ windows, a combination of double hung and casement. Note this is not full replacement, rather inserts. Here are some examples: Five double hung 40 x 55 = $925 each. three double hung 36 x 55 = $900 each. No grids, no special hardware, standard light oak inside, standard white outside. The "average" window was over $900 as you see.
The casements were slightly more.
I realize they may expect some negotiation, but it seems quite excessive to start here. It has also been very low pressure so far and he knows we are shopping around. Sale person commented that full replacement would be 25-30% more, which would put the windows in the $1,100 to $1,200 range. That seems way out of whack to what is said here.
I am intrigued by the Okna 800, and given their reviews might expect this pricing for them (but no dealer in this area). Soon getting a quote on the Infinity and would expect similar pricing. So far I guess the saying is true, ask 20 people for opinions on windows and be prepared for 35 answers.
I don't see Richlin mentioned here much. There are multiple contractors in my area selling those and I might get a quote just to compare against what seems a lower end product.
Sorry for rambling, just venting my frustrations on the process.
