Yes, hutch is an unfortunate near-match. Your plan sounds good, or you could just paint the hutch a sunny blue and leave the rest of the cabinets alone. Just a preference thing.

its a storage thing as well. we have very little 'stuff' at our vacation home, and i swear thats part of the reason it feels so good to go there. your previous owners had the hutch to display their fiesta ware. if you don't have a collection of something already don't go to homegoods just to buy stuff to fill the shelves.

do you have a den on a lower level, a large loft or guest room, or somewhere, that might need some storage? send it there. but if you dont need it in this location, move it along.

Paint the hutch to match the island. If that doesn't look better then maybe nnigrt is right, find another home for it and have a large piece of colourful art on that wall instead.

I agree there are too many competing colors. The important color anchor is the granite island top, match your colors to make that look even better.

1-paint all the cabinets and base of the island -light beige matching it to the lightest color in the granite

2- paint all the walls two shades dark of the same beige.

3-paint all your trim, baseboards, window casing, fireplace wood the same light color as the cabinets.

4-paint those green chairs deep blue to coordinate with your sofa
