Red brick looks great with dark gray, greige, khaki green, and dark gray/blue tones. The black roof does impose a lot of color on the house so the exterior needs to work with that also. Best of luck.

I like these Sherwin Williams colors.

At this point I would not paint the brick because if you do not like it, there is no going back. I would also not paint the house any green or blue shades. I think the above shades may be a little too dark. I would suggest Ben Moore "Seattle Mist" #1535 http://www.benjaminmoore.com/en-us/paint-color/seattlemist

Test paint colors on poster boards...not on your house. Look at them in bright sun and cloudy skies. Also in the porch area that is more shaded. I would not paint the red brick chimney. Add wider black shutters to the house especially on the chimney side.

I would keep the shutters black and add a pair of shutters to the window on the porch as well. Paint your downspouts the new color as well as the garage doors. Add a large piece of decorative, black wrought iron onto the red brick fireplace surface.

Look at it and live with it at this point for a while. Maybe post again, if you feel the need to also paint the brick.
