    What type of wood was used for the island top, and what color & brand stain was used on it to bring out those beautiful tones.

    Hi, its American Black Walnut. Easy to maintain with 'OSMO' clear oil, put anything down on it apart from hot pans out the oven and re-seal 1-2 times a year.
