Wallpaper might be fun, and less expensive for a small room. Is this the bedding you're using? Do you have a paper in mind to go with it?

Since this is a guestroom, I'd keep it gender neutral. Wallpaper is one of those designs that people either love it or hate it. I agree with acm that other ways to make the room comfortable would be best.

Can you rotate the bed on the large wall so the bed can be made easily? Plus, walking into a room with the bed as a focal point looks more inviting. Then, put the dresser where the headboard is now. For a little "drama" you could make the head board look quite tall. I think your bedding is fine with stylized pillows, etc.

A bed wall feature (like this head board) would make a statement and is DIYable. I like your low dresser and would move it where the bed is now. But, I would use it as a "bench" type thing for a place for guests to drop their purse, overnight bag, etc. Small endtables and pharmacy floor lamps in the corners would allow nice light, but keep the table tops free for rings, wallets, etc. This is something like I mean....

Small tables and floor lamps for the tables. Ikea has floor lamps quite reasonably priced.

If you'd like to add a hint of color, pretty green shams? Fold back the sheets and expose green bottom with white top sheet. This photo is for a nursery but this is the green color you may like. Or a pretty yellow toss pillows?
