Vacuum for multiple floor types

Interested in recommendations for a vacuum that does a good job cleaning carpet, laminate, and tile. Also, there are a flight of (carpeted) stairs involved - so unit needs to be light.

Thanks!

I'm leaning towards the Shark Rocket Ultra Light - anyone have this? Will it do the job for tiles, laminate, and carpet (and carpet stairs)?

Is the Shark Rocket the one that is a stick vacuum? Shark has so many iterations it's hard to keep them straight. I have 2 shark vacs, one of them the rocket stick vacuum with a brush roll attachment and a hard floor attachment. I wouldn't recommend it as your only vacuum. I also have the Shark Rotator Professional with lift away capability. This I would recommend. I have hardwood, carpet and tile and it does it all. The Rocket is not powerful enough for carpet cleaning, other than picking up surface stuff. It also has a small dust bin that fills quickly.

"Shark rotator true pet (that's for the stairway) lift away" is the model I have.

I love it.
