Good quality compost should have the bacteria that feeds on grubs. Nematodes will decompose the decayed body of the grub.

I meant, the bacteria inside the nematodes decompose the grub tissue, and the nematodes will take the byproduct produced by the bacteria. They both need each other to survive.

Milky spore will not work in the Northeast because it is too cold for the spore to survive. I checked with other organic lawn care providers, and they all came with the same conclusion. I would certainly use milky spore in warmer climate. It definitely works there.

Skunks ... they come through my yard every few weeks and dig up all the grubs they can find.

Yes, my neighbors on both sides have moles. I have had my house for a little over a year now and previously my husband used GrubEx I think it's called? But you can see along the property line the moles starting to creep in again. I am in the process of building raised gardens in my backyard and I'm concerned with whatever the poison is and don't want it used. But while I was digging the plot there were a lot of grubs in the dirt.
