If you decide to paint the cabinets, I would do something brighter like a white or light grey. I don't know if its just the camera lighting, but your kitchen seems really dark. Since you don't have a window near the table I would replace the small pieces of art with a large piece to give the illusion that there is one. You should also remove some of the seats around the table unless you need them because it seems really crowded.

Yes, it seems that you will have to paint all of the cabinets you match. Wouldn't a rectangular table work better along the bench seating? I would get different chairs for your counter.....something more traditional.

I would look into painting the cabinets. Could you stand to lose some of the cabinet space? The part to the right of the table could be taken out and that would open the space up. I think a rectangular dining table is better suited for the area. I would keep the bench because I think it's cool and I don't think you would have sufficient space to put chairs against the wall.
