Good Starter Botany Books

Hello, I am looking for a good beginner botany book. I start college in a few of months and would just like to go ahead and start learning. If you could just tell me what your favorite beginner botany books are and why then that'd be great. Thank you

Botany for Gardeners, by Bruce Capon. This is the preeminent botany text for basic horticultural info, now into its third edition. Used widely in most hort schools and is easy to understand for laymen.

Botany for Gardeners was an excellent read. Teaming with Nutrients is another wonderful book, more focused on nutrient uptake and use etc.. Here's another link.. Teaming With Nutrients

Albert, Amazing - I just was at that site last night looking up some material on seeds. It is great and one article leads to another and you can get stuck there for hours and hours. Great information and easy to find what you are looking for although hard to stop checking all the links available.

Another recommendation for Botany for Gardeners here. Read part of it years ago-I first came across the term intercalary meristem in there. I need to get that book and re read it!
