Can you tell me the name of the backsplash and where to find? Love the look of a brick backsplash.

    The backsplash was made from the homeowner's brick from the house. She had the stone mason halve them, then "whitewash" them with the grout.

    Do they clean up ok? I want to do exactly this and my friends are questioning whether oil splashes can be cleaned.

    I was wondering the same thing - since brick is porous, it might not work well right behind the cooktop.

    You could probably coat the final wall with multi coats of a satin poly so you could wipe it down with soapy water. We did that in a 1790's home on the floor and it worked well on handmade porous brick that was designed for outdoor use.
